Who We Are

The Network of Spiritual Progressives NSP  is a progressive movement that draws on the cultural resources of existing religious and spiritual traditions yet speaks to all including secular persons.  

Our Mission to Create A Caring Society  can be accomplished  by transforming our world’s economic and political arrangements  based on our common yet deepest spiritual values.   At the same time equitable and just economic success would be achieved. 

 TheGlobal Marshall Plan  HR 1016 and the Proposed Environmental Social Responsibility Amendment to the U.S. Constitution are instruments of this transformation.

These guiding principles of our

 progressive movement include:    

loving relationships;

 personal and social responsibility;

values based education;

 comprehensive health care;

environmental stewardship;

a safer world;

 and separation of church, state and science.

Our History  

The NSP was founded in 2005 by  Dr. Cornel West, Sister Joan Chittister and Rabbi Michael Lerner. 

Today  world wide  members connect virtually as well as in local Chapters in 36 US States and 4 Foreign Countires.     

The NSP Chapter in Palm Beach County NSPPBC was organized  in 2006 .   
Since that time NSPPBC has sponsored special events such as a "Let Justice Roll" Conference and  Peace Vigils in addition to  monthly meetings .  In 2010-2011 an "Energy Fun Festival" and "Interfaith Soup and Prayer" are scheduled."
